The British Orthopaedic Specialists Association (BOSA) is affiliated to the British Orthopaedic Association and is dedicated to providing information, liaison, and support to SAS orthopaedic surgeons in the UK.

BOSA was formed in 2003 as a professional association dedicated to the interests of Staff and Associate Specialist grades in the NHS. It is acknowledged by the British Orthopaedic Association as a member of its Board of Specialist Societies. SAS staff surgeons are now an important sector of the NHS, making up 33% of the orthopaedic workforce, providing a significant level of care, and BOSA will endeavour to foster their interests and improve their status and working conditions.
